The "Great Fast" of the orthodox church begins the day after "Maslenitsa". This year a holiday Monday joining up with International Women's Day (on Tuesday) which it is not related to at all.
In honour of the religious occasion there was a concert of the choir from the Minsk saint Elizabeth convent at the Kapella. The first half was ancient music with priestly commentaries and the second was more modern and noticeably more cheerful.
